Used 1997 INFINITI Q45 for Sale near Atlanta, GA

So today hardly anybody knows what they heck this car even is at this point. This wasn't the most popular Infiniti, but it was also not the least popular. For the day it had good power from the V8 engine but compared to todays models it is just adequate. The engine is really extremely reliable and was saved from many of the issues that later Q45 and other higher tuned V8's have with oil consumption etc. If you can find a clean version that is well taken care of you can find yourself a car that was over 50k new for around 5k today.

This car rides amazing and I really, really, like it. The front end needs work on the "links" and it's annoying but otherwise it handles very well. The EGR and Oxygen Sensor issue is annoying as well because I am spending lots of cash trying to get it sorted out and it should be (in my opinion) much easier to analyze and fix.

I was 2nd owner of this car bought in 2000. It has been extremely reliable for me and also has never EVER left me stranded. I got a very good deal on it and over the year left nearly everything stock except the suspension. In 97' Infiniti took their home market "Cima" and brought it ot the US to replace the 90-96 Q45 which was an awesome car that very few Americans liked (there is a dedicated 1st Gen following out there if you look). The car has some excellent qualities to it, including lots of power, excellent comfort and never lets you feel like your not riding in a luxury car. However, the trunk and back seats could be bigger due to the gas tank being in between the back seats and trunk which was for safety. The car was not as tight as I wanted and the shocks were toast anyways so I set about to upgrade the car to ride more the way I would have wanted it to in the first place. The car is near impossible to find aftermarket goodies for as they just didn't sell enough of them. I found KYB SR Specials from a guy that brought them in from Japan and Tein lower springs from another guy that also had a connection in Japan. Added M45 06' Sport rims with spacers (wrong offset) and holy moly, the handles like an BMW M of that era and just has an amazing ride. While it is stiff even my 75 year old dad marveled at home nicely it rides. If you can find a decent copy of these you can pck them up dirt cheap. check out the Nissan Infiniti Car Owners web site http://www.nicoclub.com/ and see the Q45 section. It is by far the more active part of the board and there are many people that can help you to fix it up. For 3-7 grand you can find one and spend 2-3k on it and for less then 10k have a car that rolled out of the front door for 50k or more. But you don't want to buythis if you drive 120 miles a day, it will put you in the poor house with gas.
