This is a very solid, comfortable car. It feels great on the road, and has excellent acceleration, handling, and braking. The interior space easily rivals that of an Impala or a Concorde, and the 2.3 L 4-cylinder engine gives this two-ton car more than enough power. It is 16 years old and has 210,000 miles on it, but it drives like a late-model car and looks great when parked.

It's not a rocketship, but open-road performance is perfectly adequate. Makes Max torque at 3200rpm, which is about 130kph in 5th. Which means overtaking is quite effortless, as it's all HP from then upwards anyway. Overtaking a B-double semi on the highway, going from 110 to 140+ is fast and effortless. I bought this car as a cheapie with 172 thou k's (about 107,000 miles) on the clock. It has, over the past 5yrs been extremely reliable. Uses no oil; good economy. Have replaced headlight relay switch, radiator, exhaust system over the years, and recently coolant pump, harmonic balancer, serpentine belt and coolant hose coupling. Runs like a dream again. Handling and brakes are great - this was an AUS$ 43k car when new in 92/93, and still has many safety features found in much newer cars. It's roomy (5 adults easy), has great luggage capacity thanks to hatch and split-fold rear seat; has been a fantastic workhorse for me and has taken me touring safely all over Tasmania, Victoria, Outback NSW and South Australia. It's a keeper. Interior trim is looking a little tired now, but it is nearly 20yrs old. I don't drive like a maniac, but it can be fun in the twisties and the 2.3l EFI DOHC engine likes to rev. I check and service it regularly. Oil after 5,000klm is still clear (ie doesn't go black and sludgy), so I think there's a few good years left in the old girl yet. I'm now up to 230,000k. Also not too heavy on tyres for a FWD. I commute to work, and often tour, by motorcycle, so it doesn't get used a huge amount. When I moved house 2yrs ago, I did 40trips with this car towing a trailer between old and new places. It's carried so much gardening gear from the hardware store it's not funny. It's more of a convenience and shopping trolley for me these days, unless we plan a longer trip and the bikes won't do. While a bit has been spent on maintenance lately, I figure it's still a good, solid car.

this is my dream car, have wanted one since i was 8 years old, I love everything about the car, I really don't care what breaks on it or how much it will cost to fix no matter what happens to it it will always be on the road even if i have to get 3 jobs to keep it there, the most fun I've ever had driving a car, it makes driving more enjoyable being behind the wheel of something you've so long awaited, here is my salute to Saab to having a great run, and most of all making the 9000 cse a euro tuner classic

I love this car with a passion, my neighbors would ask me if I'm selling it , I'll say no. My gf would tell me to sell it , i tell her hell no. I am going to keep this car until it cant go no more, or god forbid something terrible was to happen to it.
