About 1991 Nissan Maxima
Overview

The 1991 Nissan Maxima saw very few changes for the model year, which were limited to cosmetic enhancements like redesigned side mirrors and a new color of interior cloth. The 1991 Nissan Maxima came in two trims: the GXE and the sportier SE. The SE was available with a five-speed manual or automatic transmission, and the GXE was available only with the four-speed manual. Both shared a 3.0-liter, 160-horsepower V6. The fuel economy is about 19/26 mpg. Drivers like their 1991 Maximas for a number of reasons, including the comfortable, well-appointed interior; the powerful engine, and the car's solid reputation for reliability. Some drivers find the sound system to be subpar.

I love my car, our first Maxima went over 220,000 miles before trading it in, not one major problem with it. The engine was still in great shape and transmission as well. The car is very fun to drive Our current Maxima has a bad fuel injector unfortunately, but when you consider what we paid ($500) then we really can have no regrets after a year of heavy use. All we have replaced thus far was a power steering pump. And this car was beat to hell BEFORE we got it. The one thing I will say is they are hit and miss. This car for instance had been mechiancly not the best, but the interiors has held up very well over the years. Our first was just the opposite. Gas mileage is about 30 on the highway, but not so great in town.

My '91 Maxima has 305,000 miles and still runs great. I've never had any major problems until the AC compressor went out recently. Of the five cars we've owned, this has been the best by far. I get 27-30 mpg with the 5-speed manual transmission and it's always been a fun car to drive.

What can I say I use it to get to work and back. It's nothing special but it's in very exceptional shape. Had to replace the maf sensor with an oem part because aftermarket maf sensors are too inferior. The one from autozone made the car run worse than it did with a faulty sensor.

It is a good car and I can't start driving it. Yes I am not driving the car right now because I am doing a bunch of work on it.
