After giving my truck away to try and help a friend, I bought this from my brother-in-law for about $500. It burned a quart of oil a week and had some front end damage. However, this thing was a beast. I drove it for over 4 years. As long as you put a quart of oil a week in her, she just kept going. This car probably had more memories than any other car I had. Probably because I drove it at the end of my high school career and all through my college career. At that point in my life I just needed something cheap to get me to school and work. I think everyone road in the Nissan at one point or another. She finally died when I went through a huge puddle and shorted out the ECU computer that mounted under the passanger side seat. Yes, there were holes in the floor boardes, but the carpet covered them. Overall, I will never forget Nelly the Nissan for she did me good at a critical time of my life. RIP Nelly. LOL

Super fun little car to fulfill all of your daily driving needs. This car will always get you to where you need to go. About 25 mpg. Carbureted 1.6 liter 4 cylinder. Makes about 60 or so horsepower. I love this car.

I had the B12 Edition fastback. The 87 was a sporty car, with a removable sunroof, and great speaker placement for the radio. It sat low, and handled the mountainous roads of Virginia expertly. Working on the car is a big hassle, though, as there are WAY too many vaccuum hoses.

I bought my 87 nissan xe salvaged in 91. Loved this car it had a great ride to it and was very dependible. I put around 50 or 60 grand on it and had no problems other than brakes. Went through the pads all the time. Right around the time I sold it the # 2 cyclinder was melting the plug end off. I have no mechanical experiance but it went for another few thousand after sold to a freind for 500 bucks. I really miss that car it was a good car.

Nissan built a part time XE 4WD Sentra wagon in 1987 with a 67hp carbureted 1.6L. In 1988, they slapped on throttle body fuel injection and bumped output to a blistering 69hp. In 1989 a new full time AWD system was added to the XE 4WD Sentra wagon and paired it to a frisky 90hp 12v 1.6L I-4 in 1989. Quiet, comfortable and capable - most don't even know this car exists.
