Lacking in power but will pull out of any skid and very controllable in a corner. Once I add the Turbo engine to this car it'll be a Subaru killer.

Amazing in snow...even at the ripe old age of 25. Needed to replace lots of parts, but as long as you don't get them at a discount parts store like Advance, it's one and done. Forget about finding one in a junk yard. Do a thorough search online and when you find a good parts supplier, book mark it. Easy to work on. I was barely proficient enough to change oil before I bought this baby, but now I have lots of experience under my belt: alternator, brakes, valve cover gasket, tail light assembly, door handles, even window motor. This one is quick with 5 speed manual and 2.2 5 cylinder engine. Metal sunroof really makes it look its age but never had a problem with it. Enamel with no clear coat needs waxing every few months, but you don't have to worry about the clear coat getting dull or chipping. I just bought a '04 A4 Cabrio Quattro but I still enjoy driving my ol' 84!

A cool old beater. The odo was frozen at 120k for 5 years before I got the thing. Car ran great, except for huge clouds of oil smoke. And it handled great too, very sporty. Only drawback was the Audi of the 80s crapola electronics. Windows, AC, mirrors, seats, you name it. If it had a switch it broke. I gave it to a friend for his birthday.
