So far so good with this car. She's a great classic brick. I have been a long time 240 fan and after the fiasco of buying a 1 year old Dodge van I am glad I have a reliable old brick. I'll never buy anything but Volvo again

Performance - automatic transmission is sluggish and handling is as much good as a floating boat. Brakes very smooth in all weather conditions! Build quality - the B21 engine is very strong and long lasting, if well maintained. Interior quality is very good given the age of the vehicle, however squeaks and rattles should be expected from the rigidness of the Wagon. Appearance - I love the big, boxy bold styling, but my girlfriend hates it. It's a bit like Dr. Pepper, you either love it, or hate it. Cost of ownership - drinks a lot of the good juice. Unfortunate if you live in the UK, un-minding if you live in North America. Maintenance costs, particularly for genuine Volvo service items are fairly cheap - other long-term waring parts may be hard to source and therefore expensive. Fun - depends what you want from an old Volvo. It glides along the road and is a joy to cruise in. The stock ride and tuning needs attention if you want something that'll push on and spin out for that typical brick appeal.
