by voltagefuel

Most exciting and designed car in it's day

In 1975 my dad bought this car off the showroom floor for $9,500, and I later sold it on eBay in 2010 after 35 years of family ownership and pure bliss. This was one of only 50 1974 DeTomaso Pantera GTS "American" imported to the USA, although the Euro version same year had more HP and suspension upgrades. The Pantera is exciting to look at, and mo...

Certified Pre-Owned: No Transmission: Manual Color: Red Description: Used 1974 De Tomaso Pantera for sale - $95,900, 27,400 miles
Avg. Dealer Rating: (16 reviews) "One star is a FAR stretch for this shady operation. This has been a miserable process, I did my best to be polite but the whole vehicle purchase has driven me to writing this review. Worldwide Vintage Autos(WWVA) and Britt during this process has been nothing but a headache from purchasing a vehicle off of a video that gave the impression of a fully operable and talking to Britt that this Scout was a solid vehicle to actually receiving a Scout that did not run for anything long enough to get it around the corner. Then to proceed to taking it to a highly reputable shop with excellent yelp reviews where I was told anyone who put this truck on a rack or took any kind of time or interest to look over it would have seen many of these issues(drum brakes literally missing all hardware and brake shoes were hung on backing plates, missing fuel pressure regulator, incorrectly routed fuel lines, non functioning brake lights and massive electrical issues that would require complete rewire to make it street legal, steering gear box needing complete rebuild) That was followed by a $7k estimate for repairs on top of needing 4 new tires which I could tell from the second I received it were a major hazard due to being dried out. Then WWVA decided they were willing to offer a whopping $350 to help cover my costs or a 20% restocking fee which I kindly declined though was slightly offended. They then upped their offer to $600 or a 10% restock of which I was actually considering just to get rid of this headache. Upon close review of the 4 page legal contract that was basically a hush agreement to not write these reviews they changed the terms of the original 20% offer (Due to the fixed costs of shipping, listing, photography, detailing, and the employee hours associated with re- stocking, all re-stocked vehicles are assessed a 20% restocking fee equal to 20% of the vehicle purchase price.) apparently their 10% offer did not include the fixed costs of shipping but that was never pointed out just slipped into the contract but then again all those employee hours put into looking over the truck wasn't done either so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I sincerely hope this review is read by the people wanting to put their hard earned money towards a vintage auto and look somewhere else. Don't be tricked by the pretty pictures and short misleading videos. No one deserves to spend their money and have to deal with these lies. The way WWVA and Britt have operated is unprofessional, unethical and just plain dirty."
