I own a 2017 Nissan Sentra SV with approx 90k miles. My brakes make a
terrible grinding noise when I have the air conditioning on. This does not
happen with the heat. The grinding noise is diminished a bit when I turn off
the recirculation air button. I have seen others ask this question on the
Internet concerning Nissan cars, but I have not found an answer other than
take it to the dealer for brake service. I have a hard time believing this is
JUST a braking issue when the noise only occurs when the AC is on. Any
suggestions?

What you're hearing is not the brakes, it's likely the AC compressor or clutch going out. In the remotest of cases, I guess it could be the brakes due to a massive vacuum loss or maybe a really bad alternator.
