Arrived to the dealership, explained that I called and made an appointment and was told that the car was available and that I will be notified if it was sold. Met with salesman only to wait more than 25 minutes and was finally told that the car sold days before. I could not believe that I went through all the trouble to make the appointment, speak with reps explaining how far I was traveling to view the vehicle only to be told that we have other 13 year old cars that you can look at and that it didn't matter the age of the car because they are not under warranty anyway. I traveled the distance to view the vehicle because I was told that it was available. My purpose was not to travel to see 13 year old vehicles and be criticized because I preferred a car that was no older than 7 years old. It's really bad business to outright lie to someone just to get them to your location in hopes of selling something else. "

I explained how busy I was and how difficult it was to get to their location (a 1 1/2 hour drive). They said I would have to come in and put an offer in writing to be official but that they were open to my requested price range. I took a whole afternoon off to go in and instead got a lecture about why my offering price was not acceptable. REALLY? I would have appreciated an honest, "no we won't accept that price range" over the phone. Instead they just said anything to get me to come in and then talked down to me for the price I wanted and attempted to sell me a different car. I had high hopes but this was a miserable fail. "

I told Mr. Perry the situation of my Mother passing away in August and that my Father was her care giver for the past eight years and in by doing so had really got himself in a mess financially and had ruined his credit. I had checked with a few other dealerships as well as my Fathers credit Union and had no luck. He started showing me a few used vehicles but before our conversation was over he had moved to a new Elantra Coupe that he wanted me to take to my Dad about thirty miles away and keep it overnight. When I brought my Dad back the next day he picked out a very nice Elantra Sedan that he liked better. It was a bit more but Mr. Perry went to bat for him and got him in a brand new 2013 Hyundai Elantra with very affordable payments, something I didn't think could happen. If you have a circumstance and trying to get a car seems hopeless, I suggest you go see Floyd Perry at Keith Hawthorne Hyundai in Gastonia/Lowell.
