“It serves it's pupose”
The older Taurus is a good car for a high school kid or a college student. It has that Ford durability and it is like a tank with out a turret in terms of safety. It may look like a giant oval but when your just starting out with limited finances, choose durability and this generation Taurus has that.

"I ended up purchasing the vehicle, but after getting it home saw damage that was critical to potential safe operation of the vehicle. (Vehicle was a salvage, the dealer never said why the vehicle after what seemed like minor damage was deemed "UNDRIVABLE"). Only after the purchase and the return home (220 miles away) did I see the damage to the main battery container. The damage looked minor, but I am sure that even that was sufficient to deem the car undrivable and to be SALVAGED. the dealer bought the car from the original owner and surely new the condition. He was proud to show the other parts repaired and replaced, but never mentioned the battery case damage. I can only say that he strongly carries forward the admonition of "BUYER BEWARE" as regards used cars dealers!"
