The car that I was interested in was "certified" but had nearly bald tire on the rear (should be >60% tread to be certified). This concerned me a little, as I expect a certified car to meet certain standards, and this could be an indication of other missed items. I did make an offer for the car, which included replacement of the rear tires, and after the sales manager did not accept my offer, I left. I then received at least 10 phone calls from them to come back, although they made it clear that they would not adjust the price from their advertised sale price, and I also made it clear that my offer was final during each phone call (this was a bit annoying - why they kept calling me?). Eventually, I found a car at another Chevrolet dealer that I believe was a better deal, and a better experience. Although I think this dealer is acceptable, it does not compare to the experience I received at a competitor Chevrolet dealer."

Let me tell you about my CarGurus story. My wife and I were looking to a vehicle for our son who now has his permit to drive. He has his heart set on a Camaro, not just any Camaro, it had to be black, have the heads-up display, Bluetooth, and a awesome stereo system installed, cant forget the leather seats. In order to have all these options it had to be a model year of 2011 or newer 2 LT. So my wife and he have been looking anywhere and everywhere they sell the vehicle we were in the market for and taking it out on test drives. I for a while wanted nothing to do with this purchase because it meant costing me MONEY! I mean a 15 1/2 y/o getting a Camaro! At any case, over the last several days I have been researching his vehicle of interest. I found, despite my reluctance, that it has many safety features which are factory installed: roll bars, multi-airbags, traction control, low profile, and a wide body stance. As a Paramedic and ER RN I take safety extremely seriously, especially when it comes to my family. I became so satisfied with the vehicle he has chosen, I aggressively started searching for his dream vehicle. I searched many sites and found CarGurus.com was a great site to search. I'm so tight with our hard earned money, I extended my search to 500 mile radius. Our own local Chevy dealers couldn't even come close. I requested information on many vehicles from many dealers over the last several days and nobody seemed to want to haggle/negotiate a deal. They stated their internet prices are already marked down as low as they can go. Wrong answer with me. So, what do I do, thank them for their time and keep looking! CarMax = overpriced!, they say no need to haggle, their prices are the best on the net, WRONG! It was funny, I was communicating with a CarMax saleslady via email, she would not negotiate, as they're "already the best price". The next day, the vehicle I was looking into dropped $1,000.00 in price, I emailed her back about the price drop and she didn't respond! O.K., getting back on track here, as I previously stated all my correspondence was via email as I wished NO PHONE contact until I found the vehicle and price I was interested in. Yesterday, I was searching CarGurus.com and ran across a vehicle of interest, it appears it had been on CarGurus.com for 24 days, but somehow I missed it. I requested information from the dealer and a very short time later (within minutes) I had a response from a professional internet customer agent Juan Miller, we emailed back and forth. He provided me with all the information I requested in a very timely fashion, I never waited long at all for a response. I was becoming even more interested in the vehicle with every email. We started communicating price, this was the first dealership I found to negotiate their internet price which was already a fantastic deal to begin with. We haggled/negotiated 2-3 time and agree upon a FANTASTIC/AWESOME price. I then shared this information with my wife who was amazed of the deal I found (not her). We discussed it a few minutes, called our financial institution for loan pre-approval. I notified Juan, informing him that we were en route to see him shortly (this was at 2:30 PM), it was going to be a two hour drive, and to please have the vehicle ready for us to take home (which it was). I then called Juan providing him with my contact telephone number. We arrive, met Juan & Mike (Fleet MGR), inspected the vehicle, took it for a test drive, and went in to sign the papers. The price we negotiated out the door in our email correspondence was almost the exact price when we signed the contract paperwork with Brian (General Manager), actually it was a few busks LESS! They were kind enough to top off the fuel tank for our 2 hour drive back home. This entire shopping experience with this dealership was memorable, painless, swift and without all the hassles. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a new/used/pre-owned vehicle no matter the make & model. We were in and out of the dealership within two hours or so with our son's dream car! Thank you all Juan, Mike, & Brian (General Manager) who provided excellent customer care to our family. "

Negotiations were great, my salesperson was great, but I got the car home and discovered the door actuator (the part that the key fob used to open the door) was not working. They would do nothing about it. Granted, I missed it because I didn't unlock or lock the car (my goof), but they knew this was broken. If a dealership will sell you something with an item they know is broken, what else might be broken that could be a safety issue? Sad. A lousy $60 part and an hour of time took a 5 experience to a 2."
