“roof noise”

I wrote toyota canada about the roof noise when it is raining and the thin roof material in the head liner. My truck sounds like someone is hitting the roof with a hammer when it rains hard. They stated that they would not fix this unless there were more compliants as they had only 6 to date. What is the situation with other owners?
