Mercedes-Benz kicked off the 1990s on a high note with the 500-Class, consisting of the 500SL roadster. Drawing on the SL's storied history, the '90 500SL was aerodynamically streamlined and sportier than ever. While the car's design was certainly noteworthy, the real story was under the hood, where a powerful 5.0-liter, 322-hp V8 was coupled with a 4-speed automatic, resulting in an enviable powerplant.
