2000 Ford Explorer XLT Reviews
| “Want Newer Model Of Same.” I like it but would like a newer one with more safety features. Maybe better gas mileage. Handles like a Ranger but I guess that's because it is built on the same frame. Love how high it sits so I can see everything around me. Hope I can trade soon for same but newer!
Pros —
Great to see everything around me.
Cons —
Bumpy ride.

| “Performance Is Great, Interior Is Better.” Even though it is a two-wheel drive Explorer, the engine makes it a great car. The auto 'box is pretty bad and seems mismatched as when I press hard on the accelerator, nothing happens until a second before you take the pressure off. Then the gearbox shifts, so when overtaking someone in traffic the task becomes impossible. However, one can take it easy because the stereo system is superb. Reliability in the interior section has been a little rough with parts of the steering wheel breaking off and the door either not opening or not locking. The brakes seem a little hard to press down, but do give confidence in stopping power.
Pros —
power, beauty, stereo
Cons —
interior reliability, MPG, ride
