Great gas mileage. Reliable German engineering. But, prone to O2 sensor failures. Nothing major though.

Great mileage, great features, when they work. I love my heated seats, but my comfort control module took a crap, I don't have a warranty, and no longer enjoy ANY power functions in the vehicle. No windows, no interior lighting, no airbag, no more opening the trunk, no more opening my fuel door. Also discovered during this most recent trauma the car does NOT have an emergency release in the trunk. If someone shoves you in it, you're stuck there.
Pros:
For less money, you get more features. Heated seats, power everything. Great mileage.
Cons:
The car is a POS when every feature relies on power, and when something is wrong with that power, you are no longer privileged to roll down the windows. Unless you have an excellent warranty from the dealer, don't bother with this car. Never buying a VW ever again. TOO expensive to repair, no one knows how to fix it anyway.

For being an automatic/tiptronic turbo it's not bad but really didn't have a choice. Expect to troubleshoot some problems on this year especially if you don't have a warranty. It has a lot of features you would find on more espensive cars and is solid for it's year and time.

No to Bad, four cylinders with a turbo. gets the job done, good gas millage on the highway 35 mpg with 5 speed manual. Maintenance is kinda a drag, parts are squeezed in tight and tough to get at. Have not needed any professional repairs, mostly just routine maintenance. Would recommend Volkswagen to a friend, seem to be reliable, well built cars.

Car was great for all the seasons except winter, espeicailly here in the upper peninsula. The style meets my standards for sure. The interior was roomy. We did fit 5 people all the way to Chicago in it.

its peppy... has some tuning possibilities... especially the turbo model... the 5 spd is definitely a plus...
Pros:
interior is slightly larger than the jetta... but still over all a smaller car...
Cons:
its a dub... its not the most reliable thing on earth
