I researched many vehicles in showrooms, Internet and word-of-mouth: Volvo, VW, Suburu, Audi, Honda. Decided Toyota for the high ratings, consumer opinions from auto listservs detailing problems they've had.  Surprisingly, Camry's listserv complaints began with high mileage vehicles (well over 100,000 miles), whereas many others (including aforementioned models) listed complaints early in ownership. Sold!  Some confused my car for a Lexus or Mercedes because of elegant style, smooth ride, superior sound system and other quality ammenities.
