2007 Jeep Liberty Reviews

It's not a sports car, but it has decent acceleration. Brakes are good, but when they wear out, go aftermarket, since the OEM rotors are crap. Handling is a bit bumpy, but acceptable with good tires.
Lots of room for cargo, unless you go camping. In that case get a roof cargo box or rack.
I prefer the looks of the 07 and earlier Libertys to the newer boxy ones.
It averages about 19 MPG mostly highway, but be ready for service costs. Most Chrysler transmissions require ATF +4 at $10 a quart, and you must use Mopar fluid, or you'll be buying a new trans shortly. This includes the so-called "Universal" crap, no matter which well known brand it is. Everything else is aftermarket compatible.
Not much fun to drive, unless you're driving in snow or off road.

The new jeep i bought, It is great in the snow once i put new tires on it and took those stocks off!!! I have a lift kit for it and cant wait to put it on for even better offroad performance!!!

I drive these guys all day at work they are about middle of the road in most places, the ones we have have a consistent problem of the windows breaking all the time not being able to roll back up or just coming out of track!! other than that and the low gas mileage not much else all of our jeeps have held up fairly well considering the abuse they go through. i took one of these to College station once going 90 the whole way never had any problems the thing stayed on par the whole time no flux's in the engine no problems.

great torque and acceleration for a larger car

The 2007 Jeep Liberty Sport is Trail Rated, yet has great manners on the road.  We have had some tough Winter driving here lately in the Midwest and our Liberty was outstanding.  There are a couple different electronic aids for stability/traction and they seem to work just fine.  You can switch them off as well, if you need.  The vehicle is solid, no squeaks.  A few nitpicks...the interior fan seems noisy and it is a little thirsty at the pump.  I bought the 6 speed manual and there are plenty of gears for what you need, 4 wheel shifting seemed just right and yes you can readily switch in and out of 4W High at any speed under 50 mph.  Good legroom and headroom.  I'm over 6 feet and the wife is petite and we both can find a comfy driving position.  I like the Sport trim package because all the bells and whistles are not needed for this daily commuter mobile.  If you drove it a lot on highway, you could go heated leather, GPS, etc.
