My father bought this car new in 1968. It's a 2 door in a mint green or torqouise with the white vinyl top and white interior... A sharp looking old car in it's day.
It came with the 383cu inch engine 2 bbl carb and 727 automatic.
For a car this size it rocked you back in the seat pretty good when shifting from 2nd to 1st and on the highway it couldn't be beat.
You could drive it all day at 85-95 miles per hour and it seemed to run the best at those speeds. We clocked it against a buddies Trans Am at well over 130 miles per hour but god help you if you had to stop at that speed!
I drove it daily until 1988 and we parked it in the bottom of the barn on the farm...it's been sitting ever since.
The torsion bars on the front suspension had a tendancy to snap and that is where it's at right now.I went to check it out a few weeks ago and noticed that both front torque arms have snapped...Why...I don't know. It seems weird just from sitting there...?
I want to restore the old girl with my sons and am still trying to round up the few parts I need.
If anyone has a spec sheet for this year and model or any information  contact me at dardol@msn.com I would love to find out a little more about them. I do have the original dealer build sheet and even the pamphlet from the sales floor. All good things to have a car show I suppose.
I'm looking forward to chatting with anyone who loves these old Dodges as much as I do.

The 1968 Dodge Monaco handles like.. well ,a Boat. It gets an amazing 10 miles per gallon. It is made with 100% american steel. no plastic body parts here.  It has a 383 ,air conditioning, cruise control ,power windows, power brakes, and Measures 25 feet long. yes sir this car is the envy of subcompact car owners.

Pros: People don't tailgate you.
Cons: absolutely nothing

I only kept it 23 years...that says it all.

Pros: Great styling
