2006 Pontiac G6 GTP Summary
How could Pontiac sell a performanc sedan without a GTP trim? This year, the 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP Sedan arrives with an angry 3.9-liter, 240-hp V6 engine with variable valve timing and choice of standard 4-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission (only the GTPs have a manual option). A roomy sedan, the 2006 G6 GTP has a long list of premium features, including 18-inch alloy wheels, ABS brakes, traction and stability control, dual front-side airbags, fog lights, and daytime running lights. It also features a sports suspension to go with its sportier designation.
Convenience features that come standard only on the G6 GTP are a rear spoiler, satellite radio, automatic climate control, and a radio data readout. The rest are similar to the other trims -- power features, cruise control, power driver's seat, and CD player. Extras include side and head airbags, heated leather seats and leather trim, remote start, power pedals, 6-CD changer, OnStar, and choice of a fixed or panoramic sunroof. The 2006 G6 GTP Sedan gets four and five-star crash ratings and 26/34 fuel economy. Owners are impressed with the power, great acceleration, interior space, and the great gas mileage. Dash materials look too plastic and a lot of drivers want even more power.
