The 1995 Dodge Intrepid ES, the sportier trim offered, is a great combination of style, functionality, and fun. A 3.3-liter, 161-hp V6 engine or optional 3.5-liter, 214-hp V6 gives this car a lot of pep. Its touring suspension means better handling on highways or back roads. And a roomy interior seats five comfortably.
In 1995, ABS brakes are now standard in the ES. Other standard features that distinguish the ES from the STD are power locks, 16-inch polycast wheels, and fog lights. Leather seats and steering wheels trim, power-adjustable front passenger seat, and traction control are options only available on the ES. Drivers tend to keep their Intrepids for a long time, despite a laundry list of mechanical problems. The pickup, handling, and spaciously comfortable interior seem to override maintenance headaches. The trunk is huge, but some drivers complain that its opening is too small.
