Preview of 2009 Mazda MAZDA3 s Sport Hatchback
The five-door 2009 MAZDA3 s Sport Hatchback delivers plenty of functionality and peppy power, thanks to a rear hatch door and its 2.3-liter, double-overhead-cam inline four-cylinder engine, which generates 156 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. The engine links to either a manual five-speed transmission or an optional five-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy numbers for the s Sport Hatchback check in at 22/29 city/highway mpg with either the manual or automatic transmission. Electro-hydraulic power-assist rack-and-pinion steering and antilock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist also come standard on the s Sport Hatchback.
Inside, standard features include cloth seats with sport-type reclining bucket seats in the front, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, a leather-wrapped shift knob, air conditioning with a pollen filter, and a six-speaker AM/FM audio system that
includes a CD changer, automatic level control, and an MP3 input jack. Standard safety features include front-seat-mounted side-impact airbags and side-curtain airbags for both rows of seats.
