2009 Ford Flex Limited AWD

An on-demand AWD system with a limited-slip center differential adds some performance versatility to the 2009 Ford Flex Limited AWD. This top-of-the-line trim uses 19-inch alloy wheels and comes standard with traction and stability control, but its AWD system is geared more toward slippery conditions than off-road adventure. Other safety features include 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, dual front-side and side curtain airbags for all rows, passenger airbag deactivation, automatic xenon HID headlamps, and parking sensors. Foglights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a tire monitor are also standard.

The crossover wagon sits on a four-wheel independent suspension. It gets its power from a 262-hp, 24-valve, 3.5-liter DOHC V6 and 6-speed automatic. Fuel economy figures have not yet been released. The wagon can tow up to 4,100 pounds with the optional trailer wiring. Seating seven in three rows, the 2009 Flex Limited AWD can hold up to 83 cubic feet of cargo with both split-folding rear rows folded flat. For longer objects, the front passenger seat also folds flat. Tie-downs and a cargo net come standard, along with a power outlet in the trunk. A roof rack costs extra. A second-row floor console can be added for more storage. Also available for the second row are captain's chairs with their own footrest. With this option, you can also add a refrigerator that sits between the chairs.

Moving up to the Limited gets you top-quality leather upholstery and memory settings for the power front seats (10-way driver's and 6-way passenger). Already included are a full power setup, heated seats and mirrors, remote keypad entry, a garage remote, a trip computer, and wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls. The 10-speaker sound system consists of a 6-CD changer, MP3 input jack, and satellite radio. There are two more power outlets up front and ten cupholders distributed across the rows. Intermittent front and rear wipers, tilt steering, dual-zone climate control, a tachometer, and a compass and temperature readout complete the package. The interior is decked out in leather, wood, and alloy trim. LED interior lighting can be added. Available options for the 2009 Flex Limited AWD include a DVD player, a voice-activated navigation system, a power liftgate, and a three-panel Vista sunroof.
