The front-wheel-drive compact sedan remains unchanged this year. It seats four, with a cramped backseat that split-folds onto an 11.5-cubic-foot trunk. The LX Auto adds a few more standard features to the DX trim, including larger 16-inch wheels with all-season tires, a rear spoiler, cruise control, a CD player with MP3 jack, remote entry, and a security system.
Four- and five-star crash ratings are helped by four-wheel disc and ABS brakes, dual front-side and side head airbags (both rows), halogen lamps, daytime running lights, passenger airbag deactivation, and a tire monitor. Foglights and an auto-dimming rearview mirror can be added. In addition to one-touch power windows and power locks and mirrors, the 2008 Civic LX Auto features air conditioning, tinted glass, tilt steering, intermittent wipers, a tachometer, front power outlets, and front cupholders.
