2008 Saab 9-7X 4.2i Summary
Saab's American-built, European-styled 9-7X 4.2i midsize SUV changes little for 2008, but still delivers responsive handling and a luxury-oriented interior, as well as plenty of room for busy families. Although it borrows many of its underpinnings from similar GM vehicles, the 4.2i adds a distinctive layer of European styling that sets it apart from many American-made SUVs, though some may find it lacking when compared to its European-built competitors, in both engineering and luxury amenities.
Still, the 4.2i doesn't lack for features. Standard amenities include leather seats that are heated in the front, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, wood interior trim, a power moonroof, OnStar, and a six-speaker Bose audio system with XM satellite radio and a six-disc in-dash CD changer.
A 290-horsepower, 4.2-liter six-cylinder engine powers the 4.2i. The engine links to a four-speed automatic transmission. Automatic all-wheel-drive, antilock brakes, a rear air suspension system, and the StabiliTrack vehicle stability management system are also part of the package.
