The 2008 Taurus X SEL AWD features a new four-wheel-drive system that provides improved traction for this seven-passenger crossover vehicle, which essentially is a cross between a wagon and an SUV.

Power is provided by a new 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 260 horsepower, up 57 horsepower from the previous year's Freestyle. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard.

The 2008 Taurus X is equipped with such standard features as an AdvanceTrac traction control system, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, stability control, and a Safety Canopy System consisting of side head curtain airbags.

Other standard features include six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, digital keypad power door locks, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 17-inch alloy wheels, and an AM/FM stereo system with a CD player and an MP3 input jack.

Options include the Ford SYNC hand's-free wireless communications sytem and a DVD family entertainment system. A power rear liftgate is also available as an option.
