The 2006 Toyota 4Runner lineup underwent a mid-cycle design update before its release. Specific design changes included new bumpers, new headlights and LED tail lamps, and a simplified grille design. The Limited trim was the exclusive recipient of new 18-inch wheels and a power seat memory function.
On this model, the smaller engine is employed to power the 4x4 drive train.
The 4.0 liter V-6 generates 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to a five speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. The V-6 engine offers 17/21 mpg fuel efficiency, and 5000 pounds of towing capacity.
Along with a myriad of luxury features - like leather, heated seats, and dual zone climate control -the Limited is also available with a DVD-based navigation system and a rear seat DVD entertainment setup. Toyota includes its Star Safety System on all 4Runner models, highlighted by ABS with Brake Assist and Electronic Brake-force Distribution, and Toyota's Vehicle Stability Control.
