The all-wheel drive in the 2006 Mercury Montego Premier AWD comes with a limited slip differential as well as a continuously variable transmission mated to the 203-hp, 3.0-liter V6 engine. A fully independent suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, traction control, 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, and 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes are standard safety and performance equipment, leading to five-star crash ratings. Also standard are dual front airbags, automatic headlights, xenon headlamps, foglights, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Options add side curtain and impact airbags and parking sensors.
The Premier in the 2006 Montego Premier means leather upholstery, heated front seats, memory settings for the 6-way power driver's seat and controls, a power passenger seat, a CD changer/MP3 player with new wheel-mounted audio controls, power-adjustable pedals, and wood trim.
