The S-Type 3.0L is the entry point for Jaguar's mid level sedan. The S continues with minimal changes, and Jaguar has announced that the car will be discontinued following the 2007 model year. Bluetooth, satellite radio, and 17-inch wheels are new options this year.
This model costs about $5000 less than the more powerful S-Type 4.2L, but most of the expected Jaguar luxury features are include. Leather seats, wood trim, full power accessories, a premium audio system, leather seats, a moon roof, and dual zone climate control are all standard. A navigation system is an available add-on.
This S-Type is also distinguished as the only Jaguar to be powered by a V-6, and it offers gas mileage of 19/28 mpg. The 3.0 liter DOHC engine produces 235 horsepower and 216 pound-feet or torque. Like all V-8, a six speed automatic is the only transmission option.
