Saleen History

The Saleen shop has its roots in driver Steve Saleen's career in SCCA and Indy-car racing. Saleen founded the business in 1983 as a workshop producing limited-edition street and racing cars based on Ford's GT and Mustang models.

By 2003, Saleen had increased its capacity considerably and became a sourcing and production partner for Ford. Saleen produces several models under its own brand, including the S7 supercar, the Saleen S281 Coupe and Covertible, the Saleen S331 Sport Truck, and the Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang.

Saleen's manufacturing facility in Troy, Michigan, is considered a state-of-the-art production plant.
