Ford Econoline Wagon History

The Ford Econoline Wagon is a full-size passenger van series.  Now branded for consumers as the E-Series, this rugged workhorse shares a platform with Ford's best-selling F-Series trucks.

Although the focus of the Econoline Wagon (and its Econoline Cargo sibling) is on performance, capacity, and durability rather than comfort and style, the Econoline of today is not the bare-bones ride of the past.  Ford's introduced a number of creature comforts to compete with the SUV-spoiled generation.

The Econoline series is generally rated high in terms of safety, especially since the line's 1999 revamp.  However, it's still nothing to write home about when it comes to fuel efficiency!
