2007 Jeep Liberty

The Jeep Liberty is tougher than it looks. Well, with the traditional Jeep seven-slot grille and round headlights, it looks plenty tough. It's just that its popularity with women who never leave pavement may have overshadowed its off-road abilities.
But the Liberty is just as Trail Rated as the next Jeep. This refers to the five-tier standard of off-road ability developed by the manufacturer for its vehicles. Its elements consist of traction, ground clearance (9.4 inches), maneuverability, articulation, and water fording (to 20 inches). Its other stats of note are as follows: approach angle, 37.2 degrees; departure angle, 31.5 degrees; and breakover angle, 21.8 degrees.
UniFrame construction, which combines body and frame into one unit, makes the Liberty tougher than its competitors who use the body-on-frame technique. The result is less weight and more stiffness, and, Jeep adds, improved safety and long-term dependability. It also boasts a tough suspension with cast-iron control arms that resist impact with rocks, curbs, and what have you. Rack-and-pinion steering delivers precision and in this case is engineered for off-road use.
All Jeep Liberty trims come with multi-stage driver and front passenger air bags (side-curtain units are optional), air conditioning, electronic throttle control, tire-pressure monitoring system, and the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) System for child seats. It offers 70 cubic feet of cargo space when the split-folding rear seat is folded flat; otherwise the rear cargo area measures 31 cubic feet. The tailgate window flips open for convenience.
Among the options are a GPS Navigation System, premium stereo (with 6-CD, in-dash changer with MP3 capability), Electronic Vehicle Information Center EVIC (includes programmable headlamp-delay timing, outdoor temperature display, universal garage-door opener, and service-interval reminders), a  roll-detection system, Sirius Satellite Radio, and the UConnect Hands-Free communication system.
The Power Convenience Group adds power mirrors, remote keyless entry, Sentry Key engine immobilizer, and speed-sensitive power locks. The Liberty is available in seven colors, including a new one for this year, green metallic.
