CarGurus' 2003 BMW 760 Review
The 2003 BMW 760 is not for the faint of heart: that was the model year that the price tag of BMW's flagship luxury sedan jumped more than $40,000, from prices in the mid-seventies to a price topping six figures. Why? The addition of a V12 engine - "one of the smoothest engines ever built," according to one driver - may have had a lot to do with it.
The V12 engine in the 2003 BMW was the first by any car maker to use a new technology that injected gas directly into the cylinders, creating a quiet and efficient ride. There aren't too many luxury sedans out there that can go from zero to 60 in just over six seconds and still maintain 23 miles per gallon (by comparison, the similarly classed 2003 Mercedes didn't even break 20 miles per gallon).
