The 1982 Chevrolet Camaro had the third-ever total redesign of the model. The exterior was completely redone to give a leaner, meaner look to Chevrolet's signature muscle car. It weighed about 500 pounds less than the 1981 version, yet retained the creature comforts desired by its drivers.
The interior had new comfortable bucket seats and a redesigned dash with easy-to-read gauges. The car was so popular that it was selected as the pace car for the Indy 500. The '82 Camaro seemed to herald great success for third generation of the car.
