ProsGreat low end grunt. Fantastic handling and fuel economy. Fun to drive!! Good sounding stereo. Bluetooth. ConsSlight turbo lag. Wind noise at highway speeds.

The Best Of Both Worlds!! — VW's over the years have had a bad reputation for reliability. I can honestly say, I was always skeptical of those claims. My TDI has been the paragon of reliablilty and overall quality. The interior wouldn't be out of place in an Audi. Very comfortable seats, great driving position and superior ergonomics. The only driving complaint I have is a slightly soft brake pedal. The brakes work great just need to be a little firmer. Wind noise has been a complaint of the MKVI Golfs, GTI's. This really is my only knock on the car. I would definitely recommend any of the Golf variants to anyone wanting a fun, practical and economical vehicle.

Great Car! — Performance - Awesome. Acceleration 8/10, Braking 9/10, Handling 9/10 Build Quality - Solid. "Sounds like a Golf" and the diesel engine roars like a lion, but only sounds like a purr from the inside. ^_^ Appearance - Silver. Nice and shiny. Just wanted it in a more "exciting" colour. Cost of ownership - Done about 26000 miles in less than a year. (I am a travelling salesman) Maintenance - only changed a tyre once due to a puncture by a nail. Fun Factor - Nippy, fast on the acceleration and looks very cool to top it all off. 9/10 for FUN! Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

ProsBuy it if you only have one car in your garage and if the tag is not pricy. ConsPractically nothing. The only complains are the similarity in looks between the R and a GTI.

Great All Rounder — It's all good, enough power for most but also delivers a genuine 70 mpg, nav system is great and incorporating a hard drive for music and a great Bluetooth phone. The car looks great and goes well, the handling isn't the best but hey ho what do you expect for 30k? Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

Great Car But Diesel — its a diesel so great gas milage great torque and some power. and the turbo is so fun to play with. but diesel has a bunch of upsides to it and it has grate reliability. german cars run forever if you take care of them. but the one upside and down side is its a diesel Primary Use: Commuting to work |
