The Worst Car That I Have Ever Owned — This could be a good car, but it is a croaker. Build quality is appalling. I found out too late that Foresters (and Subarus generally) are plagued by rattles. Google "Rattles Subaru" for pages of hits. Mine is a class winner. Rattles everywhere which Dealer (Stealer) has acknowledged but not fixed. Fobbed off to Subaru which just does not care. BE WARNED AND DO NOT BUY.

Cons

Rear seat do not lay back. Power must be on to roll up electric windows.

Excellent Value — I looked at and drove everything in this class. I felt the Forester gave the best value for the money. It is roomy inside(I am 6'1" an don't need to have the drivers seat all the way back)The 2010 sits a few inches higher than older models and has a more small SUV look that the older "station wagon" style. It has an ample cargo space for day to day stuff even with the rear seats up. Good accneleration and handling on highway and city. I have drive the car just over 2000 miles already and my combined MPG is just under 25.

Cons

Very Well-built Vehicle With Outstanding Safety Design — Good solid balanced feel in braking, turns, and acceleration--it is fun to drive. The engineering quality is evident in its handling, although a 5-speed transmission would smooth out acceleration. The quality of the interior materials could be better and storage increased. The passenger seat is low. Vertical adjustment or power seat should be available for passenger seat. Overall, the Forrester is a roomy and balanced design. So far,I'm very happy with my purchase and the Adventure Subaru Dealership.

Great Experience So Far - 2000 Miles - Will See! — Performance good - acceleration not what I'm used to but acceptable. The quality of the car is excellent. Love the appearance. Mileage is better than quoted! Yes, fun to drive - especially after a mini-van for the last 18 years!

Pros

Good for family/dog, lots of space

Cons

Sometimes sluggish transmission

Great Buy — A little bit of squeaking and the transmission can be sluggish. Lots of passenger/head room and dog-approved. Good gas mileage so far, well within the 20-26mpg range and closer to 26 even with city-driving.

Pros

Fantastic handling, comfortable and VERY spacious, absolutely love the recline ability for the back seats and a HUGE sunroof.

Cons

Wish the car could be better insulated against road noise, also the dash could use some more thought to make it more technology savvy.

Fantastic All Year Vehicle With A Very Spacious Interior! — I would have to say it's one of the most utiliarian vehicles that i've owned over the past years, this is our 3rd subaru so I can only say good things about reliability and over all performance and residual value. Best bang for your buck by any means. As for the down side I only have 1 gripe and that's the noise insulation from the road otherwise the vehicle would be perfect. Did someone say SNOW? ha!! never thought twice about going out even in a blizzard, as long as you put on snow tires, the Forester is UNSTOPPABLE!

I Have More People Stop Me And Ask About The Car Than Any Car I've Owned. — Great car for winter driving. My previous car was a Honda Pilot and this car is a bit smaller, but more comfortable seating position. The first thing that you notice from the interior is the view of the intercooler intake. Very cool. The car is awesome in any sketchy weather, rain or snow. The 2.5l boxer with the turbo is music to the ears for engine lovers.

10 Out Of 10 — I like everything about the 2010 Forester. It rides smooth and handles with ease. The stereo is crisp and clear and the cd player is just as sweet! It looks great inside and out. Gas mileage is about 26 for me. A fun little critter to drive! The all weather package is a must for NE Pa. I wish I could have got a little more of a discount but I didn't have a clunker and they were not moving much on price. I still think it beats any other small SUV dollar for dollar.

Pros

It is the perfect size, excellent in the snow and in all weather, fun to drive, great looking, fuel efficient, and affordable

Cons

Once in a while the car fails to start right away regardless of temperature. This is my 4th Subaru and they've all done it w/o explaination or a discerable reason. Dealership diagnostics do not pick it up. There is no record of it and it seems that no one believes me!!v

Overall I Love This Car. — I absolutely love the Forester in general, however I do wish you could order some of the features separately. I think the moonroof should come standard on all Forester models without having to have anything else added. The car is energetic (especially w manual transmission: I'd never buy an automatic).
