Pros

Built like a tank, yet handles like a sport sedan. Very comfortable front seats. Exudes a feeling of safety. The best-looking small SUV, I think. Great acceleration.

Cons

The back seating area is smallish, OK for average adults or kids but not for big or tall people. The cargo capacity is just OK, about the same space as a Mercedes wagon.

A Bank Vault On Wheels That's Comfortable, Fast And Handles Great — This is my wife's car, and she loves the Mercedes vinyl "Tex" interior for its durability and ease of cleaning. She prefers it to leather and it does look great. Mileage for her has been around 21-25 mpg, which is what we expected for such a heavy vehicle. The forthcoming diesel GLK will be better, but we expect to keep this vehicle for a very long time. The V-6 engine is wonderful, and the 4-wheel drive gives a huge sense of security in rain, snow or ice. But if you want to haul cargo, a bigger SUV is better.

Would I Buy Another One? No — While it is a great looking vehicle I have had quite a few problems with it. Squeaks and rattles, techy problems, poor poor gas mileage. Do I like the car, yes. Would I but it again, NO. I love Mercedes but my next one will be a car instead.

Pros

One feels very secure in it, like a bank vault on wheels. Compact size makes it easy to manuever and park in tight places.

Cons

Gas mileage is low and requires premium and routine maintenance is expensive, just like any other MB, but it is heavy compared to competitors.

Hurry Up Diesel Version. — The ride is firm but sometimes a little jiggly on certain roads. Handles much like the C300 it is based upon. Seats are very comfortable on long trips. Don't expect to use the roof rack, rear doors make it very ackward to load even a bike on the optional roof rack.

Will Buy It Again! — Likes it a lot but I miss my BMW. It drives well, has great visibility, lots of power and it looks great! Haven't had any problem with it. I wish phone system is more intelligent. Yes, this is an SUV that is fun to drive.

Fabulous Car That Could Use Some Technological Tweaks. — Superb handling, great turning raddius, smooth and throaty acceleration. Excellent build quality but Universal Media Interface is shoddy and unreliable at times. Very poor GPS. Gas mileage is okay but not stellar. Very fun car to drive. It's a head turner.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Mercedes Glk Almost Bought It — I had a glk for the weekend and after I drove it I realized it was small and the interior was not leather it was MB tex. A vechicle at this price should be leather. I am waiting for the blue tech version as this truck uses a lot of gas.

Pros

I have a bit of a lead foot, but in-town it does about 18 mpg and highway is about 23. The back seat is tight, but I knew that before I bought it. Most of the time it's the two of us, so it's a mute point. It sits high enough up that my knees don't hurt and has good forward view.

Cons

The trunk is smaller than I'm used to, so we have to pack carefully.

Quite Pleased — I bought this GLK 350 with 38k miles, from a local Mercedes Benz dealer in August 2013. (It replaced our 2003 ML500 that was totaled in a t-bone wreck.) The search took about three months since I wanted the barolo red with all the options. I have a bit of a lead foot, but in-town it does about 18 mpg and highway is about 23. The back seat is tight, but I knew that before I bought it. Most of the time it's the two of us, so it's a mute point. It sits high enough up that my knees don't hurt and has good forward view. The trunk is also smaller than I'm used to, so we have to pack carefully. Overall I'm quite pleased with this car.

Pros

Like sitting in your favorite comfy chair, rides like a sweet dream. Plenty of creature comforts.

Cons

Had a major birth defect, the transmission went hay-wire in the first 5000 miles...and having to deal with Fletcher Jones was/is a terrible experience.

Love It More Every Time I Drive It. — Awesome vehicle overall. Very comfortable, well laid-out interior. Instruments easy to read and controls very intuitive, well thought out. Cold, cold fast and efficient A/C. Great looking, stylish without being flashy. Plenty of power. Good view of the road, front and back and sides.
