It Has The Potential To Be A Fun Car, But Misses Its Mark — Perhaps a better car for a younger person. A stick shift is a definite. The Ipod interface is a nice touch. A little more sport and a little more utility and this car could be a hit. Needless to say, I kept it for only 3 months. Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

Scion Xb 2009 Model — A blast to drive and the 'low-rider' appearance makes for compliments from most valet parking attendants! We have added a few modifications here and there to the interior, mainly chrome finishings and alloys. The teal green colour is just fabulous. Performance wise, it is punchy and quick to react when needed. Spacious, good on gas and exceptional build quality. Only downside for me was having to wait for weeks until it was ready and no negotiation on pricing, but hey, when you want quality, you have to pay for it, yes? | ||

Good Car For The Budget Minded! — The outside appearance is deceiving, making one think that this car is small on the inside, but it's not. There is ample leg room inside, which makes it really comfortable to drive, and just enough space to do grocery shopping. It took awhile to adjust having the gauges in the center of the dash instead of directly in front, but it didn't take long for me to accept the position. On the outside, there were a few small problems with the trim coming off, something that was quickly remedied with double stick tape. And there were a few retaining screws that worked loose from the tire wells, nothing that a few turns of a screw driver took care of. Yes, to some, it does look 'boxy', but it eventually grew on me and the design's not bad. Around town and on level ground, the xB drives great, zipping in and out of traffic. We live on the higher elevation, and the car does lose some power climbing up the mountain road. But with the 5-Speed transmission, the power loss was minimal, the lowest gear I needed to down-shift to climb the hill was 4th gear, so it did good getting us home. We purchased this car because we needed something where everyone could sit comfortably (our other vehicle is a Ford Truck), while going to and from work. We were on a very, tight budget, and the xB fitted our budget nicely. Our main concern was cost, and finding this deal was one we couldn't pass over. As far as mpg goes... right now we're getting minimal 25mpg in the city, more than what the window sticker dictated (22). We've yet to estimate highway mpg (never had a chance to cruise the highway yet). If you're on a budget, and don't really care for appearance but want quality and good performance, I'd recommend the Scion xB. I grew to love this car, and you could too. You Either Love It Or You Hate It. If You Hate It Your Just Being Stubborn. — First of all this is my wifes car and what can I say it's a box with wheels.A little more areodynamic than the first generation design but still a box.This is a great all around car and has plenty of cargo space for hauling items.It also has plenty of front and rear passenger space, took this on a long vacation and was plenty comfortable.The car handles very nice and drives nice too.It gets very good fuel milage for being a box, in the low 30's,and so far there have been no maintenance issues but then again it's a Toyota chassis.The generation 1 lacked in power but this being a second gen. they put a slightly larger engine in it and for it's size has plenty of power.As far as appearance goes it's a scion and only scion owners understand, we love them they are fun and unique to drive.The box is either loved and respected or you just don't like them but then again if you don't like it you've never driven it. Sweet! — I traded my 05 in and bought the 09.I thought the 05 was great then i drove the new one and wow, i was blown away just getting in it . The space, performance, and power all increased noticeably.It doesnt hav as great as milage but you have to give and take a little. Its quieter than older models, it looks sleek, and its fun to drive. Hope this helps with your decision. Primary Use: Family transportation | ||

2009 Scion Xb — It's really roomy and comfortable. Took it on a few roadtrips and I didn't feel the burning desire to get out of the car and stretch after a few hours. Its decent on gas, fun to drive, peppy, good in the snow, lots of cargo room (70cu inches). Onboard Nav is sweet! (especially with the iPod hook up in the center console) Touch screen control of my iPod. Great car for the price! | ||
