2009 Pontiac G5 Base Trim Overview

The entry-level G5 is very well-equipped for the base trim of an affordable compact car. Standard features include air-conditioning, full power accessories, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat, satellite radio, a CD/MP3 player, an auxiliary audio jack, and remote keyless entry.

The base trim can also receive most of the GT's standard features as options, like a premium Pioneer audio system, cruise control, and fog lamps. Appearance enhancements include custom-colored interior lighting, a spoiler, and a body ground-effects package.

Under the hood is a 2.2-liter four cylinder engine, which generates 148 horsepower and 152 pound-feet of torque. This modest power plant is paired with a five-speed manual transmission, while a four-speed automatic is available as an option. The G5's fuel economy is estimated at 24/33 mpg.
