Nice Overall Suv — Rented this car on our April, 2008, trip to drive from Portland, OR, to Pasco, WA, and back. Put about 600 miles on the SUV. Performance was pretty good with decent acceleration and handling. Lots of room for 4 adults. Many amenities. I own a Honda Pilot and this vehicle is definitely a contender as a replacement. I was amazed at the fuel economy - averaging about 22 for a vehicle of this size and performance. It was fun to drive with great confidence.

ProsInterior, Exterior, Braking, Engine, Handling, Agile, Gas Mileage ConsCargo, 3rd row seat, Size, No entry to the 3rd row behind captain's chair

08th — The good things are the gorgeous interior and exterior design. Braking is nice and strong, and so is the 3.5 V6 engine. Handling is very comfortable and steady. It's not exactly fun, but more agile. Gas Mileage is great! But cargo and 3rd row seat is not great. Also the downside is the small size against competition, and 2nd row behind drivers seat does not allow any passage through the 3rd seat.

ProsThe way it handles. ConsYou can't keep the backglass open while driving... my 4 runner could.

My Ride — VERY COMFORTABLE. Lots of leg room. It rides smooth. With the right tires, you barely feel the road. Handling is easy. It does have some wierd rattles, but might be due to the newness of the plastic parts. Overall.. fun to drive. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsGood looks and performance, very cool! Consthird row seats are not 50/50 split. Doesnt have 4 wheel drive lock, often very helpful inb offroad/snow driving.

2008 Toyota Highlander Sport — This car is amazing over all. It has excellent performance in the city, on the highways and off road on the snow. The sport model gives this car a very sleek, sporty look to it, featuring nice 19" alloy wheels. Inside, the very coiol JBL 6 speaker plus subwoofer sound system gives this car some rythm. Its built well inside, has plenty of cargo room. Sitting in it fells spacious in the front & back. The sunroof, and the bluetooth system is also nice to have.

Value Conscience Suv — Highlander Sport is a well-rounded vehicle with good mileage. Does everything well. Very good value, redesigned for 2008. Downside is that it is alittle bland. Fit and finish is excellent. I would recommend this vehicle if you want the most bang for the buck Primary Use: Commuting to work

The Best Mid-size Suv On The Market! — I'm planning to buy this SUV sometime this year (hopefully) and have already gone ahead and test driven it. My test truck was an olive green Highlander Sport, with all the options. Unfortunately traffic was a bit heavy the day I tried it out, so I barely got a feeling of the power this thing packs: it's 270hp V6 is one of the most powerful out there (compared to the Edge's/MKX's 265hp V6, 260hp V6 on the Acadia, etc.) and yet boasts superior fuel economy and overall driving comfort. The interior is superbly appointed, with unbeatable ergonomics and unparalleled roominess. Access to the third row was easy, even for me, and said row was comfortable enough for a drive no longer than a few hours. The driver's seating position is extraordinary, and makes it easy to drive the thing, even around heavy traffic. Acceleration is impressive, braking is too, though the brakes could be a little bit stiffer in my opinion. Handling is a bit weird and feels excessively loose as it's electric and not hydraulic, but once you get the hang of it, it's really comfortable to be able to maneuver with nothing more than the tip of your fingers on your right hand. The back-up camera and GPS are very useful.

2008 Toyota Highlander Limited 4WD Review
ProsThis is an amazing comfortable vehicle. We purchased this two 1/2 years ago at 3,000 miles and have used it this time for traveling. It rides like a car but feels like your built tough like a truck. The amenities that came with this car is a suprising alot! The space and comfort it provided for trips has also been very good. It has made an excellent companion. There has been zero issues mechanic or electric. Constant 22 mpg Avg and 24-25 Mpg Highway. ConsIt is not a hybrid

Perfect Blend Of Quality And Durability With Entertainment — There was alot to like about this vehicle, and nothing to dislike. The only dislike was this is not a performance car, but hey, its an suv. Whether it is for the family or for a traveling couple like us, or even your typical city man/woman, this was a great vehicle to own and an even better bucket of bonus' and entertainment.

Hot! — It is my dream car. Fun to drive, passengers love it too because its comfortable and has individual heated seats and back row controls for heat and ac. The styling is fantastic, it is a great looking car inside and out. I live in Illinois and it handles all the horrible weather we get. Wondergul handling, killer sound system, I love, love, love my Highlander! Primary Use: Family transportation
