Yes I have owned both simultaneously!! After driving both I sold the Jeep!! The only distinct advantage the Jeep had was its ability to articulate over rocky terrain due to the front solid axle. Other than this the Toyota FJ is far superior in every way (except the seats were more comfortable and the blinds spots were less daunting on the Jeep!)!

ideal would have a solid front axle and sway bar disconnects for offroad!
IFS Independent Front Suspension is ideal for on road !

Toyota Technology In A 4x4 — Toyota has a reputation for reliability! So far so good no major issues or breakdowns! Feels like a tank with the boxy interior and square pillars, blind spots are an issue and mirrors are a must ! Longer and wider than a Jeep Wrangler ! More stable and streamlined according to my 10 year old grand daughter! Called Jeeps a Jalopy because of design

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I Love Driving And Owning This Car. — I love driving and customizing this car. It has a commanding presence and people notice it. I've been on many trips where I've been stopped by a stranger at a gas station to talk about my car. This is not a car for shy people.

Lots Of Fun For A Daily Driver Or Offroad, — I previously owned a 13 Tacoma and enjoyed it. However I sold the 13 Tacoma for my FJ, I will say it was a great swap. The handling of the FJ allowed me to feel comfortable on or off road. Aside from the fuel consumption it allowed me to go wherever. Giving that the FJ isn't exactly aerodynamic and is heavy a V6 is enough power but was expected to get poor gas mileage. When buying the FJ I knew that this was an obvious issue. If interested in a FJ don't buy it unless you have set your mind on the fuel consumption being what it is. I really enjoy my FJ and the uniqueness of it.

Best Vehicle I Have Ever Owned! — I bought my 08 FJ Cruiser used. The previous owner had bought every option available including fog lights on the roof and bumper, the locking diff with a-trac etc. I really liked the fj's when they appeared in 2007 and decided when it was time for a new vehicle to test drive one. Loved it from the beginning! Immediately after purchase, myself, wife and son made a cross country trip to Colorado ( 2,000 miles one way) to see a family member who was injured in a serious car accident. I have to say that being 6'1 with long legs, this truck was The most comfortable to drive or be a passenger in. If you are looking for a Cadillac ride,,, this is the wrong truck for you, but it does ride nice on the highway. one tank of gas we got 24 mpg! all the rest we averaged around 20 mpg. This truck is solid, heavy duty, and ready to climb, mud, snow and Ice without any mods. I will never own another vehicle. My wife is 5'2 and at first was having trouble seeing until the she discovered the seat lift adjustment, now she loves to drive it.

Not A Soccer Mums Suv — FJCruiser is for adventurous souls. I like this truck a lot and enjoy my ride every single day. Ample of space to fit in all your junk anywhere you go. Offroad performance is unmatched and equally drives good on the road. Postive: Off-roading, reliability, King of the road(u feel), looks good, ample of cargo space. Negative: Mileage, suicide doors. Caution:- this is not a soccer mums SUV.

Glad I Have One, Miss The Cargo Space Of The 4-runner — Great everyday driver tank. Been highcentered twice but never stuck. Water level to just below the doorhandles, no leaks, aftermarket tires and a two inch lift kit for the thirty ones. Great fun when off the daily traveled highways and biways.

I Will Never Go Back To Any Other Vehicle And If I Can Talk My Wife Into It I Will Get Another. — I have owned pickup trucks and SUV's, I have heard this FJ gets poor gas milage and on windy days you feel it and I have heard the seats are not comfortable. I love this vehicle and I call it the all terrain vehicle that will do anything and go anywhere. If you want really good gas milage buy a small car. If you complain about wind? drive any other SUV or truck and compare. If you don't like the interior? why did you buy this in the first place unless the dealer held a guun to your head. This is a vehicle that is meant for anything, anytime or anywhere without a problem and they are pretty comfy. I am 6'3" and 245lbs and this has more room than my wifes expensive SUV? This is a vehicle that will live on longer than any that try to compare and still look good. Craig
