2008 Mazda Tribute i Sport Review
ProsThe room and gas mileage Conslow power

Great Family Car And Nice To Drive On Trips — This is my wife's SUV and it gets great gas mileage for a big car (28mpg HW). So much room its great, and rides really nice. It only has an inline 4 engine, so the power isn't the best, but the gas mileage is worth it. Its not 4x4, but since its front wheel drive (which shocked me) it does very well in the snow. No maintenance issues with the SUV so far either, so that is great! Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsSafety and winter maneuverability ConsCheap factory tires

Great Year-round Vehicle — I like the visibility from the driver's seat, the short turning radius is great as well. Highway fuel economy is impressive. Traction and stability control is fantastic for winter driving- seems like summer all year round! Decent price as well! Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsDoes a great job if you find the need to drive somewhere. Cheap to own. ConsNot so great if you want to have fun driving somewhere

The Tribute Excells At Being Average — Cheap to buy, cheap to insure, cheap to fuel. Excellent cargo space for the $. Feels relatively well put together for a Ford. Recently lost a race to a riding mower in it. This one is the base model with manual trans. Could only imagine how boring it would be with an automatic gearbox, much less 4WD to weigh it down. Gets great freeway mileage. I flogged it from KC to Atlanta and back last spring...averaged 28mpg. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsHeight and good interior Constakes a bit to accelerate

Zoom Zoom — The Mazda Tribute GS class is the highest model, but with it the only luxury u really get is the piano finish on the interior everything else is very rough like. the seats are not fully covered in leather, but its still handy for the kids. I have run out of space already with two kids, but I am still happy with it. I love the height and the grey colour.

Classic Small Suv With An Amazing Redisgned Interior And Classic Sturdy Exterior. — The Tribute was redone for the 2008 model year. I previously test drove a 2006 and the handling and performance were lacking. They have resolved these issues for sure! They have redone the inside to perfection giving the Tirbute a classic outside with all the beauty one desires inside. There are a LOT of buttons on the center dash but you get used to it. THere's a built in ipod/mp3 jack which is a must to any new car buyer. The outside keeps a classic small SUV look while adding new touches to distinguish model years. The 2008 has a more square look to it which makes the owner feel like its more rugged. Mazda is not stupid, people. The room in this SUV is not lacking either. By day it serves as taxi to twins who require a LOT of big stuff. Car seats and doiuble strollers and bags and extras. This car by night easily carries 4 adults comfortabely.

Love It So Far — Drove the sister suv's for over 3 months, and really liked the new Tribute. Red/blue lighting much easier on the eyes than the Santa Fe, truck itself not as tinny as the Escape. For my budget Toyota or Honda was not an option esp. with no rebates offered on those at the time. Only thing I miss is the auto lights, which I may add. Gas mileage is fantastic and after coming from an Expedition, I see the gas station less than half of what I was! Owner for 0 years, 2 months Miles Driven per Year:12,000 |
