2008 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS AWD Review
ProsSafety, AWD, Quality ConsMPG a bit lower than class

Very Well Built, Quality Suv, Highly Recommended. — I've driven this SUV for the last year and a half. It handles very well in all kinds of weather conditions. During a recent snow storm, the AWD lock feature, the stability control, made it very easy to feel safe. I'd easily purchase 2 of these cars as daily drivers for my wife and I. She however drives so many miles, we're looking to get a bit better MPG. We average around 22MPG with 80% highway 20% city driving. The style is much better than most "family" cars, with easy access to the back seat/storage areas. Maintenance on the car is typical, however, 0 major issues have happened in the 60,000 miles we've put on it. Performance lacks a bit in acceleration, but it's easily overshadowed by the comfortable quiet ride. This is my second Sante Fe, and I'm open to finding another one in the future. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsHandling, Power, and plenty of cargo space. ConsMPG

Nice And Reliables Suv, With Plenty Of Cargo Space. — It has a lot of power and its fun to drive. Although MPG sucks in the city, on the highway its pretty decent. The original battery did not last long, did leave me stranded on two occasions. Other than that, I Love the style and performance. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsComfort, style, price ConsNone yet

Great Deal, Great Car — My wife's '08 Santa Fe Limited AWD has 85,000 miles on it and has been great. Can't beat the cost, we bout it new (as a dealer demo) for $25,000 and it has Everett option including 3rd row and rear seat entertainment. Did have to have the idler pulley replaced but that was pretty cheap, other than that everything is stock including breaks (not tires). I would recommend and will look at Hyundai again when it is time to replace my old beater. Primary Use: Family transportation

Love It — It has enough power to have the get up and go, excellent handling - especially in the snow, excellent price for quality and package. It is roomy and comfortable and I don't feel squished. The warrenty is amazing from Hyundai and I always get great service there. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsSuv, 4WD ConsNothing.

Drive Your Way :d — It has magnificient performance according to its weight. It is quite a bit much on Fuel consumption is 9.2 lt./100km, on the other hand, that car can reach high milegeas unproblematically, however, it can used not only in city also in dirt. You can drive this car on 4WD which means 4 wheel driver, also you can close the 4WD, with one button, eventually, this car offers to you real enjoy. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Not Bad For A Grocery Getter. — well, like i said, its a front wheel drive and a V-6 at that, so i cant really say much more than that about hter performance. its relativly fun to drive, though payments are a little high for my budget. its especially cheap as far as maintanence and fuel mileage goes. with 4 wheel disk brakes itll shut down like a stuck in mud, and will hand good on snow and ice relatively depending on the driver. i think i should've gotten the MDX Turbo though. Don't Buy Huyndai — Looks good but it sucks. 1 electrical repair early on then this week the engine light and ESC light came on and then the car died on the hwy. The local dealer closed so no cheap oil changes either. And the warranty: I should say bye to it cause the closest dealer is 2 hrs away and they towed my car there but they have tried already 2X to tell me I may not be covered for the tow or repair. Really with a less than 1 yr old car? DON'T BUY!!

2008 Santa-fe Just Right! — Incrediblefuel economy for its size! Not overpowered, but not underpowered either. 2.7 litre v-6 is just right (just do not plan to tow more than a small boat that's all. If you want to pull heavy stuff then opt for the 3.3 litre! Otherwise the 2.7 is more than enough power for me anyway! Friend of mine has the 3.3 and regrets the fuel economy! (you are tempted to go faster and accelerate quicker with the 3.3! |
