Pros

Durability and reliability are at the top of the list. Also very comfortable and stylish

Cons

Cost of diesel

Can't Get Much Better For An All Around Truck. — Not much I didn't like other than the cost of diesel but that is offset by the surprising 16 miles a gallon the truck gets. Very comfortable inside and the body has great lines; very versatile functionion as truck or family vehicle.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros

The grill guard rocks!! It scares the crap out of morons in little Hondas who try to cut me off when I'm driving it. My dad loves his truck. =]

Cons

It's too plain. It's pretty cheap. It doesn't have a CD player, it doesn't have back speakers, and the front basic lights are very cheap looking.

It Is Big.......very Very Big..... — Overall, for the price my dad paid for it, it ain't a bad truck. His friends drool over that thing(especially the grill-guard). However, I don't particularly enjoying driving this truck due to poor acceleration, and difficulty to maneuver, but then again, what do you expect in a big truck?

Pros

This is a great road trip vehicle.  My wife loved our F150 so much for traveling we always took that instead of her Cadillac.  The F250 is better still.  More room than most will ever need and great handling no matter what the weather or road conditions.

Cons

Fuel mileage isn't good but if careful and not too aggressive with the power pedal reasonable for a truck this size.  Keep in mind this is a very heavy brick aerodynamically speaking.  It is not a vehicle for someone wanting to save on fuel costs.  I've gotten 19 hwy by not using cruise control and keeping in the 60-65 MPH range.  That of course is under best of conditions. Most owner of this type of vehicle are not expecting excellent mileage.   A programer may help this but I don't like messing with stuff I don't know anything about.   The GPS option is an expensive add that I possibly will fore-go on my next vehicle as it requires periodic map updating through Ford and that isn't reasonably priced in my opinion.  I do like that I don't have to remove a GPS unit from the dash and hide it every time I leave the truck somewhere though.  Guess that's a trade off.

The Best Truck I've Owned — Performance with the sequential turbos is awesome. Won't beat a gas truck but all just raw power. Ride comfort is way above expectations for any truck. Build quality is I believe above most other vehicles IMO. The appearance inside and out beats the competition across the finish line in every case. Compare the top three trucks in the market and I believe first looks prior to test driving will go to Ford. After the test drive you'll be sold and after driving this truck for 4 years, I think it will be hard to find another vehicle to measure up to the ride comfort and utilitarian benefit of this truck.

Diesel Mileage Sucks On 2008 F250 Ford — I took a trip from Austin to San Diego in my new F250 2008 XLT. The best mileage I could get and keeping it under 70 was 14.9 miles per Gal.(note speed limit in West TX is 80 MPH). That is a full 66% less MPG than my 1999 at 80 miles per hour (better than 21 MPG) on the same route. Ford mileage Sucks. I would also like to note that I just received a note from my dealer that they patched a flat on my rear tire before they sold it too me without telling me (the letter came a week after I picked up the car and after my return from Calif.). I also found a screw in my right front tire while in CA that did not quite go through tread and I had worn the head completely off. This would mean that they sold me a truck with the screw in a different tire than they fixed without checking the others. I think this is why Ford is having so many problems, the employee does not care about the customer, only themselves.

2008 Super Duty — The 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty boasts 350 horsepower and 650ft-lbs of torque with the 6.4 liter Powerstroke Diesel Engine. This monster is quick in acceleration and has the best towing in its class. The box-shaped appearance gives it a bold, agressive look. Its off-road abilities are great. In other words.....GET YOU ONE!!

Cons

big, better mileage would be nice

Big Bad Ass Truck — Great truck, horrible mileage and the price of diesel is astronomical right now. I'd recommend getting a Bully Dog programmer. After the simple installation the mileage has vastly improved and acceleration is phenomenal! For weighing 7800 lbs. it really gets up and moves. And of course this is the best looking super duty truck as well as being the most luxurious. No complaints

Bad A$$ — One BAD A$$ rig! Needs some blemish fix ups but is no big deal. She had all the power anyone needs. 6.4 models have the nicest interior of any ford truck. Also has some nice exterior work done to it.

This Truck Is A Beast! — This truck is awesome! 6.8 liter V-10 tows anything, all leather, power folding and extending mirrors, power sliding back window, manual or automatic four wheel drive, heated seats, all power seats, windows and door locks, tons of interior space, 6 disc changer, fold out platforms under the back seats, extra power outlets in the back and in the center console, tons of storage space in the doors and dash, huge cupholders

Look Out And Thanks For Buying That Hybrid! — I have always wanted to get one of these trucks and I finally had the chance and I jumped at it. I did put a small lift on it and upgraded the engine and change the exhaust system and now I get much better MPG and a lot more power. I still have to get wheels and tires but I love, love love the truck!

Pros

I found this vehicle to be very comfortable on long trips, it has pulled a 30 foot 5th wheel across country.  Great sound from the stock radio.  The seats were comfortable and spacious.

Cons

with any large truck, the diesel fuel mileage wasn't the greatest.  that's about it, the fuel.

Great Truck, Great Long Distance Ride, Very Comfortable Vehicle To Own. — we enjoyed this vehicle because of the power it provided us during our travel days. We found that this f250 diesel had the get up and go to get out of traffic situations and had plenty of power to climb hills of California and mountains of Western US. I would say the fuel mileage was the down side, but I found I would rather spend the fuel money and ride in a comfortable cabin.
