2008 Ford Expedition EL King Ranch 4WD Trim Overview

Ford stretched its best-equipped Expedition model by 15 inches to create the EL King Ranch 4WD, which made its debut for the 2008 model year. The upscale, extended-length EL King Ranch 4WD offers 24 more cubic feet of cargo space than the standard Expedition model. It also comes with Ford's ControlTrac 4X4 System, as well as a number of special features and badging that set it apart from the other models in the Expedition lineup.

Those special features include low-backed, Chaparral leather-trimmed front captain's chairs, which are heated and cooled. In addition, the driver's seat has a 10-way power adjustment function.

Other upscale interior features include a King Ranch center floor console with floor shifter, woodtone applique on the instrument panel and shift handle, carpeted floor mats with the King Ranch logo, and a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel with climate and radio controls and a Chaparral leather insert.

A Convenience Package, included as standard equipment, adds power-adjustable pedals with a memory setting, a universal garage door opener, and a reverse sensing system.

Outside, the Expedition King Ranch sports such unique features as Pueblo Gold front and rear bumpers and fascias, and Pueblo Gold running boards. The King Ranch 4WD rides on 18-inch machined aluminum wheels with King Ranch center caps.

A 300-horsepower, 5.4-liter V8 engine ably drives the Expedition King Ranch, though gas mileage suffers. The engine links to a six-speed overdrive transmission. AdvanceTrac traction control with Roll Stability Control (RSC), a Safety Canopy system with side airbags, and a tire pressure monitoring system are also part of the package.
