ProsRoomy, and powerful, ConsSirius radio needs features improvement.

Ford Escape — A little heavy on the gas, but after all, it is a truck! It's the only thing that's going to get me through winter! I can't wait to try the traction control in the snow. It did work very nicely on a bit of dirt on the road. Gas consumption will be higher in the winter I'm guessing!

ProsDependible, low cost of ownership Consno 3rd row

My Sweet Escape! — I love my Escape! It was super economical(the seats are made of recycled plastic). It handles like a dream, really responsive. It has just enough room, without feeling like I am driving a bus. I have taken it to New Orleans, South Padre, New Braunfels, and Austin so many times and it has always been comfortable. I get good gas mileage and never worry about it breaking down. I purchased it in July of 07 and have only had 1 problem so far. I had my power steering replaced, but it was under warranty. ProsIf you want an economical suv. ConsIf you don't like a bouncier ride.

It Looks Good And Performs Like An Suv Should. — The V6 engine is a strong accelerator. Handals well. Never needed repair. The new styling is better than the previous model. It gets great gas milage, usually 22 MPG. It is a fun suv to drive if a bigger one is out of reach. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsAll positive so far except seats staining ConsSeats stain easily

I Like Everything About The Truck Except The Seats Staining So Easily. — My Escape has only 7,000 miles on it and the seats are staining. If they get any raindrops or any kind of water on them they leave a stain. My advice is to buy one with leather seats. I have read that this is a very common problem with these seats. For what I paid for this vehicle the darned seats should not stain. Come on Ford dont force me to buy Japanese. I am the only person who rides in this SUV and it is kept spotless yet the seats stain. Who can figure. Cheap material?? Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosgreat handling in foul weather. limited feels luxurious Cons22mpg while hypermiling $120 each to replace peeling pilars...come on ford! this is a common problem and obvious to others...fix it fo free

Reliable And Confident On Bad Weather Daze — +134k miles and nothing but routine maintenance is a def pro in my book +not an off roader, but can handle as much rain and snow as you feel like driving thru -ford escapes seem to have an issue with the pillars peeling. if you have this problem you prolly notice it on other escapes too. -22mpg whilst hypermiling in my 2008 limited. very thirsty v6 Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsLow-maintenance, dependable truck that has been great for commutes, trips, inclement weather, and emergency response. ConsSeat stains has been a pain. Lots of cleaning required to keep the interior looking fresh.

Dependable & Utilitarian — 120,000 miles and only two days in the shop. Once for a manufacturer's recall on the radiator and another for a worn pulley. With regular maintenance, this SUV has served me well as a daily driver, emergency response vehicle, and equipment hauler for just about everything. It's great in the snow and ice, and drives smoothly for long days on the road. I would highly recommend the V6 as it doesn't leave you wanting for more on the highway and pulls your average trailer with ease. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsExcellent car! Gas mileage, price, maintenance costs are low. ConsNone really.

Awesome Overall Vehicle! — Car is great, overall quality is good. The vehicle gets great gas mileage. Some of the components in the vehicle such as the seats could use some redesigning in the 2008 version as they get dirty easily. Overall a great vehicle! Primary Use: Commuting to work

Good Car For The Snow Around Town Hauls Great — good looks and good features. good stablitiy and reliablity. The extra features like chrome rims, awd, and sunroof are a must to be different. I even tinted the windows and have had many compliments. 3 people in my family own an escape and have had no problmes just the the ususal wear/tear ie new tires.

ProsComfort and drivability. Fairly agile on the highway and quick, short turning radius. ConsGas mileage is not the greatest and I would have preferred a 5 speed automatic in it.

My First Suv. — Performance wise for the 3.0l V6 is ok at 205hp but could use a little more umph. Ford should have gone with a 5 speed on this one whcih would have helped out a lot with fuel economy. Otherwise I love the truck and how it handles. Primary Use: Commuting to work

I Love My 2008 Escape! — I've driven this car just under 12 months, and still love it. It looks great, is very comfortable to ride in and handles well. My fuel economy is as good or slightly better than that of the '04 Honda CRV - which was a 4 cyl. - and the Escape is a 6 cyl. The only repair that has been done was to have the rear struts modified by a mechanic to fix a design flaw which caused undesirable wear on the rear tires. Seems that Ford could have rectified this by now, but apparently, the struts are positioned to help with the 'roll over' issue... never mind that it causes undue wear of the rear tires. Unless things change drastically, my next vehicle may very well be another Escape. Oh, and the repair costs are lower than for the Honda... a good thing when 'issues' arise.
