Pros

Handles very well for a truck, cab is roomy up front for the size truck it is, back up lights are very bright, heated seats, very good A/C, tows my 17 ft. bass tracker with no problems

Cons

Wind noise, drum brakes on the back tires, its a little under powered, back seats do not have much leg room or comfort

A Good Daily Driver For Light Jobs — This is a great truck for light jobs such as moving appliances. It handles great for a truck and it is fun to drive. It is a bit under powered at 210 bhp and with a 4-speed automatic its not getting much help. This truck does cruise very comfortably on long trips and for a truck it has some comfy suspension. The engine in it will just keep going as long as you treat it right with oil and transmission fluid changes. It gets about 18 mpg average which is not great but its not horrible either. I personally put about 23,000 miles on this truck a year.

Pros

It's a good, reliable basic all around truck, just what I was looking for and the price was less than I expected!

Cons

Really can't think of any. It has everything I need in a truck and then some.

2008 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab. — I like the truck because it serves the purpose I bought it for, and still has some nice amenities. The only thing I would have enjoyed more about it was a 5 speed manual transmission, but they are pretty rare in this model.

Perfect Combination Of Sporty And Workhorse — A great color combination with the red body, black rims, and tinted windows. The lockable hard bed cover is perfect for keeping things dry and secure while camping, boating, or moving. The engine sounds great even with the stock mufflers.

I Pulled 10,000lbs Across The Continental Divide. 1600 Miles 2.5 Days!! — Great truck, the first truck I bought for myself back when I was a river guide. It starts first time every time, looks better dirty, great power, great seats, overall fun to drive and always ready to pick up something heavy and take it where it needs to go. I would drive it for life if it had back seats.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros

I've have 6 cylinder model.  It's very reliable and easy to service.  The paint has held up very well, and there is no indication of rust anywhere.  The cabin has the basic necessities, is comfortable, with well laid-out controls.  Gas mileage is impressive on the highway (21-22  mpg).  I've had the truck for almost six years and not one bit of trouble.  It seems to have been well built.

Cons

Gas mileage in town is so-so (15-16 mpg), and it's a little down on power.  The 4-speed automatic transmission is reliable but clunky.  It's a tight fit for adults in the back seats.

Great Small To Medium Sized Truck — Although I had sworn never to own a Chrysler product I got a good deal on this truck in 2008 with only 4K miles on it. Since then I've put over 52K trouble-free miles on it and have no complaints whatsoever. It can hold five people, haul just about anything that will fit in the five foot bed, and is reasonably economical.

Pros

I am still driving the 2008 because I just don't want a full size truck and this is the only one with the towing capacity I need.  I guess I will drive it two more years until I retire and just complain about it.

Cons

It is junk

Avoid These Trucks! — This is my fifth Dakota since 1995 and my last. This one is junk compared to the others. There is nothing I like about this one. I never should have bought it. The body is ill fitting, the paint is peeling, the interior is really cheap. It is a gas hog compared to my previous ones and my 2003 had better performance.

This Is A Good Truck And I Truly Am Enjoying The Heck Out Of It. — This truck has 302 horsepower and rides better than most cars I have owned! I have owned a 2006 Ford Ranger, 2004 Chevy Silverado, 1999 Ford F-150, 1996 Ford F-250, 1996 Dodge Dakota, and a 1992 Dodge Dakota. This truck is by FAR the best truck I have ever owned in my entire life (and I am 46!) It's fast, it rides great, it's getting 16 mpg in town and 20 mpg on the highway. I don't know what others are saying but test drive one and you won't be sorry.

Good Solid Performer I Would Make The Purchase Again — It really has get up and go and the highway milage for a crew cab is outstanding I have gotten up to 22 mpg. Additionally, the truck has great ride much improved of previous years. It climmbs mountains with little trouble.
