From its stylish, contemporary exterior to its luxurious and well-equipped interior, the 2008 Cadillac offers just about anything a driver could want in a high-performance roadster. Under the sculpted hood of the 2008 XLR resides a 320-horsepower, 4.6-liter version of Cadillac's famed Northstar V8. It links to a six-speed Hydra-matic automatic transmission with a manual shift feature.
The only new features for 2008 include a heated steering wheel and new optional chrome wheels, as well as a limited-edition Alpine White version of the roadster. Other than that, the XLR carries over from the previous year with no changes.
The two-door, two-passenger XLR includes such features as Magnetic Ride Control, StabiliTrak, Magnasteer steering, and 18-inch aluminum wheels, which help improve the XLR's handling, stability, and balance.
The XLR also comes equipped with an automatic retractable hardtop roof that opens or closes at the push of a button. It takes less than 30 seconds for the roof to retract and store in the trunk.
Inside, leather seating surfaces, heated seat cushions and seatbacks, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, BVLGARI-designed instrumentation, a head-up display in five languages, and aluminum accents (with optional eucalyptus trim) all combine to provide an upscale feel.
Other features include dual-stage airbags, a dual-zone climate control system, Adaptive Cruise Control, a keyless ignition system, OnStar, and a nine-speaker Bose AM/FM audio system with a six-disc in-dash CD changer and a navigation system with a 6.5-inch touch-screen LCD color display.
