Good Car For A Student Or A Small Family, Quality Built, Very Solid And Dependable. — I like the overall appearance as compared to any Toyota or Honda or? Very comfortable to drive and ride in, very large trunk and back seat a plus! Moves pretty quickly for a 4 cyl and should get about 28mpg we'll see. Handling is right on, i feel the road but not too much to annoy but just enough to know i'm in control. Really like to larger outside mirrors, great view. Overall a great buy and would recommend. ProsHandles great ConsHorrible gas mileage for a 3 yr old low mile car

Will No Longer Recommend The Fusion To Others — When I bought (paid cash) my v4 2007 fusion sel I loved it -The car has only 26,000 and 2 months ago it started over heating. 2 days later I took it into my dealership and was told it needed a new engine! They ordered and put the new engine in within 5 days. Since then I've had to take it in 3 times to have the check engine light re-set, it now takes at least 15 minutes to get heat out of it and my gas mileage went from 28 mpg in town down to 17 mpg. I took it back and the dealership said it's getting 22 mpg. My on board computer says 17.5 and my own math puts the mpg at 17. However even at 22 mpg it's not acceptable. When I bought my Fusion Ford advertised 28mpg which is what I was getting. Now they say 22 mpg is the average. I would not have bought a car with such poor mileage! I was already getting 22 mpg out of my perfectly good 1997 Concord. Why would my mpg change with the new engine and why has Ford lowered their estimated fuel usage from 28 to 22? Needless to say I am screwed because I can't prove I was getting 28 mpg before they had to put a new engine in my not even 3 year old car. I am so angry I will never buy from Ford again. ProsGas mileage and looks sharp ConsNone unless I'm driving, haha!

I Love It! — I have the BEST car in the WORLD when it comes to gas mileage. No one is going to believe me but we have put $20.00 worth of gas in this car since I got it in August 2009. Paducah Ford filled it up that day and we have put 10.00 in it twice, is that unreal or what! I don't work so I don't use it every day but still Ihave driven like 3 or 4 times with a half of tank of gas and the hand just never moves! It is actually getting comical! Although I'm not complaining! Primary Use: Family transportation

The Best Car I Own — The car has great quality, it handles like the smoothest car you've ever driven and that's not even to mention that it really will end up paying for itself at the pump. Seriously this car is awesome to drive too on account of the black paint job, turns heads. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Proscomfortable well fitting seats, no rattling or squeaks, great stereo, Consnot for me but the head room is limited, a couple of blind spots,

Put The Fun In Functional :->. Great Car — I am in home health care and our company provides these cars. When I first saw it on the web, it was OK if I have to drive it fine, it had no distinguishing marks on it that makes it stand out but I absolutely love it for driving in Houston, it is the 4cyl, and the pick up is quite good. I disagree with your assessment of the road noise, although it is not luxury kind of quiet but it is quieter than our Prius and Baja. The seat is comfortable enough to keep my spine from bothering me with extensive driving. I love the stereo system that is clear and well balanced without having to play around with the settings. This car is solid and I couldn't think of a better car for the kind of driving we have to do.

ProsGreat combination of fuel eceonomy, performance adn load carrying capacity ConsNeeds a six speed box for better interstate cruising

Great Allrounder For The Family Driver — Very reliable and affordable definitely one of Ford better products continuing a process of improvement. Very well equipped for an SE model, perhaps lacking a 6 speed transmission in manual , might benefit from a lower ratio for interstate driving. Very relaible have changed the oil with one slight sensor issue quickly remedied by the dealer.

ProsFun to drive, NASCAR runs it, sleak design! ConsIt's brand name has never really appealed to me, even though I've owned two previous Fords!

Fusion: So Far, So Good! — Acceleration - Best of the 4 previous cars I've owned by far (92Camry, 92Ranger, 99Trail Blazer, 00Ranger). Build Quality - Bartow Ford did have for over two weeks because of some kind of defect. Appearance - Outside it pretty flashy, interior is comfortable on the eyes. Cost of Ownership - Except for the $388/month payments, it's the most practical car i've owned. Fun Factor - I think of myself as a NASCAR Driver (Carl Edwards) because it's a Fusion!

ProsAn alright car, less problematic than past Fords ConsVery bland, slow 4-cylinder engine

A Bland But Refreshing Change For The Better. — If your looking at the scores, you might wonder what I mean by change for the better. To be honest this is a modest effort by Ford to improve their image from a truck maker that makes bad cars to the company trying to return to its glory days making cars for average people which the Model T did. To drive the Fusion doesn't really impress. It handles alright for a car of its size. The problem lies in the 4-cylinder engine which is slow, almost forcing buyers to go for a V6. There just isn't enough torque to move this Fusion quick enough. The inside is a modest improvement over the Ford Taurus but only looks nice when you choose an interior that isn't black. The black interior just makes it unwelcoming, it really needs colour. What sets this Ford apart from the bad Fords from the past is this one doesn't have the embarrassing recall problems or very notable problems that they usually do. This is what I mean by the title. The exterior styling is quite bland particularly thanks to the Gillette grille. Overall this isn't that great of a vehicle but Ford had to start someone to get to improving their cars. Due to the improvements made to the Focus and the new Taurus, the 2010 model which looks great might actually be something to look forward to. |
