Pros

heated seats, manual gear box, sunroof

Cons

heated seats only work for 10min every hour on a road trip, the leather is plastic, the car is in the shop every 2 months because parts fall off, lots of road noise, overpriced...even at staff discount, very huge loss in resale... worth less than 30% after 2 years with 20,000km

Ewwwww Its Gross — Its junky....very very junky. Corners like a minivan, very little torque, and it takes a while to get it... very narrow torque band. ugly car too... I was desperate for a car, what can I say? Build quality is bellow average... very noisy from wind and road noise from 80kph+ not to mention lots of failure from parts

Pros

Looks, seats, the wind in your hair, ride, handling, enormous trunk with the roof up

Cons

Could use more power or at least more torque

Ford Focus Cc 2.0 — I had this Focus as a rental car for about 4 weeks in Summer 2008. I originally wanted a hatchback or small wagon, because I had to do business in several locations in France and Germany, and as an engineer I carry some heavy toolboxes. Hatchbacks weren't available, so I had a choice of this or a Renault convertible. I took the Focus, and it was awesome! The engine is a bit weak for the heavy car, but it cruises at 120 mph easily if no big grades are involved. Even with the roof down, it's quiet enough at speed to use the bluetooth handsfree. (with the wind deflector up) Excellent Sony stereo. I ended up doing more than 10,000 km in this car, and the seats are definitely good enough to still be relaxed after sitting in it all day. Fuel economy wasn't great - 9L/100km on average - but that was mostly fast driving. Handling is not as good as in the hatchback, but still big fun. The steering is communicative and the 5-speed manual gearbox slick - a 6 speed with a taller top gear would be better though. With a diesel engine, this would be a pretty awesome all-rounder.

Tucker Review — Handling is perfect, brakes are up to par, the tires are great in the snow and in bad weather and its great on gas mileage and cost. The only bad thing is the wipers, and some problems with the airbag light on the dashboard.

Pros

Styling faithful to the original, drives ok

Cons

Depressing interior, heavy wheel, wasted potential by not using the European platform

An Under Average Car With Lost Potential. — Many enthusiasts were pleased with the fact Ford was importing the European Ford Focus over to North America. In Europe the Ford Focus is known as a great car for a great price. Well, it turns out the North American car only kept the styling while sticking with the same old rubbish that kicked Ford out of the #2 spot in America. The area I expected the Focus to do well in was to drive well. The Focus that was provided to North America doesn't do this too well. First things first, the platform is not the same as the European one meaning it just doesn't handle as well. The steering wheel is very heavy, normally I like this a lot more but this wheel is heavy and vague. Had it kept the Euro platform this heavy wheel might make sense. The engine is not refined but has ok pick up. The next worst thing about this car is...the interior. Its just depressing with very cheap details. Its not even built very well further leaving the impression the interior was just an after thought. Compared to interiors of other cars aside from the Cavalier, its no wonder many prefer a Civic or a Corolla over this. Reliability is questionable, the North American Focus is one of the most recent cars that has had nearly 20 recalls issued in a matter of 2-3 years. To have this many, one must wonder whether there is even a good one built. The only good thing about this North American Focus is it kept the styling of the European one. The later cars had a more modern look which I like but its still ruined by the terrible interior. The good news, Ford has learned from its mistakes and fixed a lot of the problems I cited here in their next Focus.

Pros

Performance, handing and family capabilities.

Cons

Weight and consumption.

Focus St — Ford's attempt at a hot hatch to suit the petrol head and family man! Ford successfully manage to blend both of these to form the Ford Focus ST, basically, the possibility to take the kids to school and drive home with your pants on fire. With a 0-62 time of 6.5 and a top speed of 149 its pretty hard not to. To date the only other two cars produced by Ford UK with a top speed higher than 150 are the GT40 and GT. Build quality has improved drastic from Fast Fords of past, materials have a feel of German quality. The Focus ST's appearance is head turning, you won't mistake it for the inferior models. Cost of ownership is relatively cheap, since the big blue oval set out to produce a family car, although consumption is a bit high. The car edge's the driver to push harder and drive faster. Fun factor is 10/10, brilliant handling due to it's highly sophisticated fully independent multi-link rear suspension (dubbed "Control Blade"). This setup allowing comfort and taut. Although the being so heavy the Focus does have a reputation for being wayward in a corner, but releasing the accelerator briefly will send the car into a controlled lift off oversteer.

Xr5 Focus — i love how quick off the line it is. It accelerates powerfully although the braking is a little weak for the power of the motor. The drivers door has a rattle that the dealer reckons they can't hear but it drives me nuts. The door sounds like it flexes when I go around a hard corner. the interior and exterior styling is just gorgeous. The electric orange colour is vivid and stands out for miles. Mileage averages 10.4 - 10.5 l per 100km around the city and it is loads of fun to drive

Pros

Tons of room, peppy 4-cylinder, Excellent gas mileage

Cons

Small sunroof, Flimsy arm rest, seats are terrible about holding stains...

Ford Focus Is Fantastically Fun — I love my Focus. It has nearly 70,000 miles on it and it is still running like it did when I drove it off the dealer's lot. The performance is acceptable for a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder and the handling is excellent for an econobox. It sometimes feel as though I'm driving something sportier the way it grips corners. It also feels like a much larger car that it looks from the outside. The interior space in my car is comparable to that of most mid-sized family sedans of the mid-90s. My Focus is solid as a rock, the only problem I have is an occasional squeak when I'm going over one of the 5 million speedbumps in my apartment complex, but other than that, nothing. My car hasn't needed any repair work so far mostly because I have taken my car to a Blue Oval certified shop every time I needed anything done including oil changes, tire rotations, etc. As far as cost of ownership, this car has truly spoiled me. Even when gas was $4 a gallon, I was paying less than $30 to fill up. It has excellent gas mileage, so getting gas is a once-a-week thing for me which usually average out to $12-$15 to fill up from a quarter of a tank. The Focus is definitely a fun car to drive, all I can say is go to your local Ford dealer and ask to test drive one. I am certain that you would fall in love with the car like I did with mine...

07 Focus S — The car is great, handles awesome. With the base 2.0l you only get 130hp its kinda lacking. the gas and maintenance to the car is very little. It has a 14 gallon tank and gets about 26 to 28 miles per gallon in the city and 32 to 35 on the highway.
