I Was Going How Fast Officer? — all around great car for the price. The paddle shifters are fun. Get up and go could be better but once the turbo kicks in its becomes more fun. I was going to go for the leather but for some odd reason decided the plaid to be more fun -- i made the right call imho. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsReally fun daily driver for younger people. A great car all around, all the economy of a Honda but with a lot more fun. ConsAppearance, the taillights and it rides really high.

Excellent Car — I actually bought one of these, it's been awesome. I have driven 19,000 miles on it. It is the best car I have ever owned. It is quick, 0-60 in 6.7 seconds, ran a 14.9 at the drag strip. It is capable of good gas mileage, but it's hard to not run all out all the time. It does understeer, but you can force it to oversteer quite easily. It is really fun to drive and it is easy to drive on the highway. I can do about 450 miles on a tank at 75 mph. The brakes are unbelievably good. The car is excellent for anyone looking for a fun daily driver. The trunk space is also very good. The trunk is much larger than it seems. You can fit 3-4 large suit cases with the seats up. The engine also requires little maintenance, the first two oil changes are at 5000 and 10000; then they are every 10000 miles. ProsVery reliable ConsIf you have a large family, you should get a bigger car. Maybe the Passat, CC, or Touareg!

Awesomely Fun To Drive! — My car is pretty good. It's reliable and fun to drive. 6 speeds get you up and going quicker. I love the "S!" It helps when whenever I have to pull out of a busy intersection. I love the black interior, wish I had a moonroof though. That'd be perfect. And I am looking to trade rims. I would like the Jetta rims. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Awesome — reliable and love hearing that turbo spool... and awesome gas mileage vs. the superduty. Was dad's car to begin with but when he wanted the BMW I wanted the GLI. It would definitely give his 2010 328i a run on the highway Primary Use: Commuting to work

Buy It! — Great car! This car handled like a sports car. Suspension was spectacular for a car in this price range. It was a TDI and average mielage was 50 MPG and at times it would do over 60 MPG. Solid car, no rattles or squeaks. Interior was great, easy to access everything from driving position and it looked good. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsTo many to list. ConsNot enough to remember, if any.

My Baby. — The performance of the car is amazing. No repairs needed, just the oil changed every 5000 miles. No squeaks or rattles. The exterior and Interior of the car is beautiful only a few minor scratches. and the Interior has the GLI Plaid stitch. The cost of ownership is very low, I commute 450 miles a week and it costs roughly 60 dollars a week for gas and there is nothing really to be maintained which costs a lot. This car is extremely fun to drive.

ProsTight as a drum at 185,000 kms, excellent handling, reliable, comfortable, economical and safe. ConsNothing

Great German Engineering At An Affordable Price. — I bought the car new in May 2006. I now have 185,000 kms on it and I have not had a single repair other that routine maintenance. I have replaced a few bulbs, the serpentine belt at 150,000 kms and rear brakes at 95,000 kms. The front brakes are still original and have 1/4" of pad left. The car is still as tight as the day I drove it off the dealer lot. I would not change one thing on this car. I get an average 1,000 kms per tank (55 litre). The original Bridgestone tires lasted 92,000 kms and I switched to Nokian WRG2 that now have 93,000 kms. They are due for replacement this fall. These are winter tires that you drive all year long so I don't have to have a second set. This is by far the best car I have ever owned and I am planning to keep it as long as I can. The VW mechanics all say that it is now just "broken-in" and I believe them.

Standard Tdi Jetta — Great fuel milage- 50-55mpg if you drive normally, 45 if you have a lead foot. Made of steal and a heavy gauge that is aproved in Germany. The appearance is very sportsy and sleak, very nice. however the it has had much electronical problems, besides that, it runs beautifully. The clutch is a true VW- VERY TRICKY. will stall in a heart beat, but if you can drive it you can drive any standard. I perfer this car though over any other (including the caddy). Vw Gli 2006 — Love it and would never own another car other than a VW or an Audi. Very reliable, fast, and can add a lot of cool add ons to it. Good gas mileage considering it is a sports car and the black and red trim with red calibers makes it cool to look at. Primary Use: Commuting to work
